Spring Colors

I normally try to have at least 1 project done a day. Sometimes it ends up being two and some days I just don't feel like it.

Well, yesterday was one of the days that I wanted to try something new.

I haven't played with Gesso on the card stock before but I watched a youtube video where the author created background with gesso and it was so awesome. Being inspired by the challenge and new way to play with my craft I decided to create this card. By the way here is the video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PT2Qu_z8k2M

It was fairly easy to do.
The smaller of romantic rectangular is covered with gesso. I was waiting till its dry and then used inktense pencils to add color.
Gesso adds nice resistance that paper doesn't go all wavy.
It becomes almost glossy like paper but with pattern of your choice.
Stamped and embossed the flowers from JustRite. I have used the same stamp in the background.
Cheery Lynn butterflies and ribbon & viva pearls.

And it's all done.

I really liked the gesso technique. I will try to add alcohol inks to it.
Gelatos would be perfect on this as well... I can't wait to get those.

What do you think? Any suggestions?

I am playing with Just Rite challenge and simon says stamp challenge
