Hello,
I want to Thank You, all of you wonderful people who look at my blog and leave lovely comments. I love & read them ALL.
I really love gardenia and I thought it would be complicated to make but it was actually easier then a rose. I have googled the picture of the flower and here what I found. So I decided to mimic the flower pattern.
The trick is how the bud is formed. Unlike roses the gardenia bud created by petals twisting into swirl, where roses petals overlap.
I am playing a lot with different flowers but I am finding using very similar layouts for my cards. I will try something new soon.
Here the card that I made for mothers day:
BACKGROUND: This was easy. I used pattern paper. I don't do use papers often but this time i decided to do so because i wanted to add stitching. This is faux stitching. I use the tracing wheel to create little holes so it would look as if i stitched it. Then gel pen fills in the rest. I have cut mini Cheery Lynn doily and it became lacy border.
FLOWERS: Using Cheery Lynn build a flower #3 cut out petals different sizes. The gardenia is build out of 3 layers. Each layer has 6 petals ( roses have 5 petals). To create a bug I simply placed 6 petals in the row ..straight line.. and glued each end petal half-way to petal before ( does that make sense?). Then using twisters started to roll it and the bud is done. Then i created next 2 layer of 6 petals like i normally would.
If you want step by step pictures of it .. let me know i will post it, how i did it.
I have added perfect pearls on petals and little tine pearls. The flower is done. I have used Cheery Lynn build a flower #2 for the leaves.
SENTIMENT & EMBELLISHMENTS: I have used JustRite stamps for that of course...I stamped with dew drop brilliance and tuxedo black. Added Cheery Lynn butterflies and pearls. Pretty bow to top it up.
INSIDE: This was easy, just used scraps of the pattern paper that were laying around my desk added stitching. Added JustRite sentiment with the frame and used JustRite die for the blank spot.
