Father's Day card

I am trying to do more of cards. But I find i don't have as much time I am going less complicated cards. At least this gives me the opportunity to use all of my stamps. Sort of going back to basics.
This card is made for father's day.

Here is how the card made:
For the background I used JustRite background stamp. I seem to use use quite a bit of just right stamps lately and not using my other ones. The card is 5.5 X 6.5. In order to use as much of the space w background stamp as possible I simply stamped it twice, cut it into pieces and connected them. All the connections are hidden by Cherry Lynn boarder die and a ribbon.

For the sentiment, I stamped using Just Right stamp. I have bought Ranger Distress pens. I am so not impressed with them. I wanted to color the clear stamp and stamp it. They didn't work well. I have other market pens Staedtler Marsgraphic Duo. Those are awesome and they not nearly as expensive as the ranger. Over last few month I bought few ranger products and they were disappointing. I find they are cheaper made then the products that were created for the artists or illustrators. The only thing that I still like ranger is distress inks.
I also have bought sakura glaze pen. I love sakura gelly rolls pens. There are few types of them depending on what you are planning to do. The  glaze pen is designed to create a glossy 3D image. It defiantly makes the  image glossy when you color it. I have colored the sentiment and the frame with them I am not sure that the camera really picked up the shine.

For the final touches I used my fav VIVA pearl pen. And it's done.
What do you think?

  3. Stacy- great card! I think a guy would really like it. The background stamp is awesome....totally perfect for a guy!

That is too bad about the distress pens. I recently bought a set of American Crafts stamping pens. I am impressed with them. They stay wet on the stamp and the colors are vibrant. I picked them up about a month ago at Winners.

    Have a good work week!
